Mr. & Mrs. Diaz | Year Two
"I, Shaina, choose you, Arturo, to be my husband. My love for you will continue to grow with each passing season. I vow to always be the best of me that fits perfectly with the best of you. Today, I faithfully promise to love and support you always, and for the rest of our days."
Two years ago today, I said these exact words to Arturo as we exchanged vows and became husband and wife. Two years ago today, I became the one of the luckiest women on the planet. Two years ago today, I married my very best friend. Though it may not seem long in comparison to other love stories I know, I am so excited to be celebrating two beautiful years of marriage with the love of my life!
I couldn't imagine sharing a life with anyone but Arturo. Just over seven years ago, we met for the very first time. We were friends long before we ever had our first date. Just after three years of being together, traveling to amazing places, and discovering our mutual love for a good New York City donut, he proposed in Central Park with a flash mob!! Four years after meeting Arturo for the very first time, I was finally able to call him my husband.
Today, I'm celebrating you, Arturo! You have taught me to live each day as if it's the only one. You surprise me with spontaneous trips to Spain. You're an adventurer. You motivate everyone around you to be the best they can be. You support me 110% on my entrepreneurial journey. You make quite a handsome photo assistant on wedding days. Thank you for putting up with my massive crush on Leonardo DiCaprio. You've introduced me to some of the most delicious foods on the planet (lomo saltado, anyone?). When I volunteered us to host Christmas last year, you deep fried a giant turkey and helped to prepare a meal for 30+ people. And you shared a few of your cigars with my uncles and cousins, which I'm sure they loved you for. You have a heart of gold. To top it all off, you make a great dance partner when we pull out our Salsa moves to Drake's One Dance.
There will be sunshine and rain, good days and bad ones. Each and every day, we choose love. Arturo, you're my biggest supporter, personal comedian, cheerleader, advice giver, constant encourager, spider evictor, hug dispenser and #1 fan. Forever and always, you have my heart. Happy Anniversary my love. Cheers to many more!
