Pre-Session Preparations & Things to Consider

BEFORE YOUR SESSION

I know having your photo taken with fewer clothes on than you're used to might be a bit unnerving!  When you first arrive, we're not going to dive head first into the photography portion of your session.  I'll put on your favorite Pandora station, then we'll take some time to chat!  You'll also have a few minutes to change into your first outfit and I'll explain some of the core poses I use.

To ensure we have time for each of these moments, please be sure to arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled session time.

LOCATION & TIMING

I’m a natural light photographer because I believe that natural light, from the sun and its reflections, create photographs that feel fresh, timeless and true to you.  I photograph boudoir sessions at my natural light studio in Bridgeport, Connecticut (I’ve most likely shared my studio address with you at this point, but for easy reference you can also find it listed in the section below). The lighting in my studio is best in the mid-late mornings and early afternoons, which is why I schedule boudoir sessions for this time frame.

My studio is located in an old industrial brick building. There is a large gravel lot to the right of the building you can park in. The front door is street-side with a large “305 Knowlton” sign to the right of it (I mention this since some of my first-time visitors tend to go to the door around back, which is one I don’t have access to). It is a secure building, so once you arrive give me a call or send me a text message at 203-247-7905 and I’ll come downstairs to let you in!

STYLING YOUR SESSION

Do you want your engagement images to look more editorial?  Bring a little extra something with you!  A freshly-picked bouquet for you to hold, or even a flower crown is a fun way bring a little extra romance to everyday objects.  Incorporating even just one extra styled item could be a fun way to make your session more unique.  If you’re looking to bring on a pro to style your session, I’ve worked with some of the best in the business and would be happy to give your their information!

TAKE A DEEP BREATH

You’re going to be an amazing model!  I always tell my clients that the BEST models are the ones who have never modeled professionally before... and I mean it!  The ladies who are usually most nervous are the ones who totally rock their session, so be encouraged!  I've worked with EVERY personality type and EVERY body type, and I always create images that my clients love!!  Get excited!
