Oregon Coast
After a day full of exploring forests, canyons, and lava tubes, we headed west to the coast of Oregon on Sunday morning. Our day was filled with expansive sandy beaches in Seaside, sights of the Pacific Ocean and Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach. Our day ended with a sweet Anniversary Session to celebrate Sam + Jon's 10th Anniversary, coming up later this month!
I'd have to describe Seaside as Oregon's smaller version of the Jersey Shore here on the east coast. The quaint streets are filled with arcades, small shops, restaurants and more. We parked and walked along the main road until we made it to the beach. With the 60-degree temperatures and blustering winds, I couldn't believe how many people were still swimming in the chilly water of the Pacific Ocean!
From Seaside, we drove about 10 minutes south to Cannon Beach to see Haystack Rock. Jon doesn't understand why so many people love to visit Cannon Beach just to take pictures of a giant rock (haha!), but I loved it! The sand was SO SO SOFT!! And Haystack Rock, that was pretty cool too-- it looks much smaller in the photos than it is when you see it in person!
From Cannon Beach, we proceeded to our final stop, Oswald West State Park, where I photographed Sam and Jon for their Anniversary Session. On our way home, we caught the sun setting behind the cloud-topped mountains. What a fabulous way to end another wonderful day!
Our last stop on our drive along the coast was at Oswald West State Park for Sam and Jon's 10 Year Anniversary Session (click here to see the full post). Man oh man, was it beautiful!!
Don't miss the rest of my photos from this fabulous trip!
