Switch Trendy for Timeless
Whether you're new to the Shaina Lee Photography family and have only taken a look at some of my work, or you've been here for a while and have read a bunch of my blog posts, you know I'm a proponent for timeless and classic wedding styles. Why? Because the romance and elegance of these styles translate so well to photographs, and hold their own in 50+ years when you're looking back on your wedding day with loved ones. Though I LOVE many of today's wedding trends, I know they'll be outdated much sooner than we want them to be (simply because trends are ever changing)! Below you'll find some of my favorite ways to achieve a timeless and classic wedding style, without sacrificing any elegance or beauty of the day!
Hairpieces
Bridal hairpieces are some of my favorite details of the wedding day, especially if they're a family heirloom! They help to add an extra bit of sophistication to your bridal style, without being overly trendy.
Table Linens
Linen tablecloths will always be timeless. They've been around forever, and will continue to be for years to come. While materials like burlap work wonderfully if you're having a rustic barn or farm wedding, they don't necessarily belong in ballroom venues or other coastal settings.
Signage
Wedding signage adds so much to the décor of your day! If you're thinking about having signs with quotes and sayings, I recommend using a line from a romance novel, or better yet, your vows! To add an extra touch of class and elegance to your wedding signage, have the designer* of your signs write out the wording in calligraphy. Some of my favorite signs are beautiful sayings written out on a mirror!

Soft Color Palette
When choosing a color palette for your wedding day, consider doing softer colors (think pastels and neutrals) rather than bright, in-your-face colors. If you are dead set on having bright colors, I suggest choosing one bright color that is going to be your "pop", so to speak, while the others are muted versions of the original. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE fun and bright colors, but I do believe softer color palettes have a timeless elegance to them!
