GATHERING YOUR DETAILS & ACCESSORIES
The whole day begins with the details! This is one of our favorite parts of the wedding day, because it allows us to prepare and get our creative side warmed up for the rest of the day. We ask brides to gather any details they have before we arrive so we can walk in, say hello, give you a big hug and then begin photographing your beautiful accessories! You can find a list of common bridal accessories below to organize so we can be sure to document all the personal touches of your wedding day!
- Dress, Veil, and/or Hairpiece(s)
- Rings (engagement and BOTH wedding bands)
- Jewelry
- Shoes
- Bouquet
- Perfume
- Heirloom Pieces
- Personalized items
HAIR & MAKEUP
We encourage our brides to have at least their hair and makeup done before we start because who wants a ton of shots without their makeup on?! Nobody.
GETTING INTO YOUR DRESS
When it comes time for you to get into your dress, it is important that everyone who will be helping with this task is already dressed, so they all look lovely in your photographs! You’ll want to get into your dress near the biggest window in the room, as it will pour in the most amount of beautiful natural light! By having just a simple window in the bridal prep area, we are able to create beautiful portraits with soft light. We prefer natural light so the more windows, the better!
BRIDAL PORTRAITS
After your dress is on, you may be putting on your earrings or looking in the mirror, soaking in the fact that today is your wedding day! These portraits are some of our favorites of the bride, because they quite often capture her excitement and anticipation for the day ahead! Bridal portraits are time permitting, depending on what time we have to head out for the first look or ceremony.
