NYC Lifestyle Headshots in Greenwich Village & The High Line | Jo Designs
New York City has always held a special place in my heart. Growing up in Fairfield County, Connecticut, it was always a quick one-hour drive into Manhattan to see an exciting Broadway show or discover new restaurants. When Arturo and I started dating, we would take spontaneous day trips to NYC about once a month without a plan of what we were going to do, see or visit. We even got engaged in the city; he popped the question in Central Park! New York is a beautiful place with endless spots to explore, and it will definitely be the place I miss most when we move to Hawaii one day.
When my lovely friend, Joanna, asked me to photograph her for some lifestyle headshots in Manhattan, I was ecstatic! We started our day off on The High Line at 23rd Street. There are views of different murals, gardens and the Hudson River from The High Line; my heart was pounding with excitement as we explored different spots here for portraits. We later made our way to Greenwich Village for a quick lunch break and more photos in front of the brightly colored storefronts in the area. My favorite spot of the day was our stop at The Little Cupcake Bakeshop (if you're a chocolate fan like me, then you need to try their Brooklyn Blackout Cake!). This sweet little shop not only has some of the best treats around, but also has one of my favorite murals on the side of its building in Manhattan! We took advantage of our time there as I snapped some photos of Joanna in front of this sweet heart-filled mural as well before ending our day at Fort Tyron Park.
Having the opportunity to venture to some unexplored sections of the city on my part with Jo was a dream come true! Joanna is a beautiful soul inside and out. She's a talented designer and founder of Jo Designs, which focuses on interiors, events and stationery design. Jo's creative juices are always flowing, which was such an inspiration to me when I was photographing her!
Isn't she beautiful?!
We were so excited to find a few blooms!
We found the cutest window display while walking around Greenwich Village and just knew it was the perfect spot for a photo op!
My favorite mural in all of Manhattan!
