Bella Bridesmaids Westport | Vendor Love
Maggie is the owner and stylist at Bella Bridesmaids in Westport, Connecticut. We originally met early this year at a gathering for some local wedding professionals in our area. Since then, she and I have had the chance to work together a few times, and I am so thankful for her friendship!! This fall I visited Maggie's shop and let me tell you, it is beautiful!! If I were a bride shopping with my bridesmaids for their dresses there, I know I wouldn't have to visit any other stores! There is an endless selection of dresses in colors and styles from plenty of designers. Maggie is incredibly sweet and loved by many; I know my brides and their girls would just adore her! I'm so happy to have her join my Vendor Love blog series, and I'm even more excited for you to get to know her!
Tell me a bit about you and your business! How did you get started in the wedding industry?
"I'm Maggie, the owner of the Bella Bridesmaid's location in Westport, Connecticut. We specialize in bridesmaids' dresses but can assist with any formal occasion from Mother of the Bride, Mother of the Groom, prom, graduation, guest of wedding or if you just want a pretty dress! I have always loved fashion and worked for years as a stylist for several fashion companies. When I got married two years ago I quickly realized that I loved everything about planning a wedding, especially picking out my bridesmaids' dresses! I stumbled upon Bella Bridesmaids, where I happen to get my dresses from. After some research, I was amazed at how many options they had! I had such a great experience and the process was so easy, so I knew this was an industry I wanted to be in. When I found out the Westport location was looking for new ownership, I knew this was an opportunity I couldn't pass up! It is such a special time for someone when they get married and being apart of assisting with creating their vision is the best feeling."
What should brides know about your process and about working with you?
"Every bride we work with is extremely special to us and we love to be apart of their big day while helping to make selecting the bridesmaids' dresses an easy process. We know planning a wedding can be a lot of work and we try to help make this process as stress-free as possible. We also want to make sure that not only the bride but her girls feel just as beautiful the day of the wedding. It is a special time for not only the bride but the girls she chooses to be a part of her big day!"
What is your favorite part of working with brides and their bridesmaids?
"My favorite part is helping a bride pull together her vision. The bridesmaids' dresses play a big part in their look and feel of the wedding. Once it's all pulled together it is amazing how beautiful the bride's idea brought to life!"
How early should brides bring their bridesmaids to shop with you available so their dresses are available for the wedding date?
"I always suggest to the bride to first get their dress because it will set the tone for everything else. Once she has found her perfect dress I would suggest to start shopping for the bridesmaids, which should be around 6-7 months prior to the wedding. Once the dresses are ordered they can take about 14-18 weeks. This will also give the bridesmaids enough time to shop for their accessories!"
What is one tip or piece of advice you'd give a bride for her wedding day?
"Take a few moments when you can to sit and sip champagne, or go for a quick stroll with your partner! This day is about the two of you and you should enjoy it together."
