Trusting Your Wedding Photographer (and Other Vendors!)
Earlier on in my career as a wedding photographer, every once in a while I would book a couple who loved my work, but I knew felt like they couldn’t 100% let go of the control by the time their wedding day arrived. I totally get it; they’d dreamed of their day for months and wanted it to be absolutely perfect. I know I wasn’t the only one who had ever faced this predicament, as I had spoken with other vendors in my market who experienced the same thing at one point or another in the history of their own businesses. If you’re in the midst of planning, please know that we want to carry out your vision because this is what we do for a living (and happy clients are a major part of the foundation of our business!). I understand that relinquishing some of that control can be hard during wedding planning, but friends, I’m here to tell you it’s okay to put your TRUST your wedding vendors!
Our business is our livelihood, it’s our passion, and among other things, it’s how we support ourselves and our families! When our clients are happy, so are we! Your wedding vendors want to do their absolute BEST in serving you well on your wedding day, but in return, we do need to know that you trust us. In my own personal experience as a wedding photographer, I know that my most successful weddings have always been with couples who 100% trust us, our skill, and our competence.
Trust and communication go hand in hand, so don’t forget to communicate with your vendors! From the initial inquiry to the delivery of images and albums, I make sure that I’m an open book for my couples because I want them to know that they can reach out and ask any questions they may have before their wedding day arrives. Having that open communication allows my clients to feel at ease knowing that I understand what’s important to them on their big day!
