A CLARK HALL WEDDING
Britt and Kate’s winter wedding at Clark Hall at Kinsmen Brewing Company in Milldale, Connecticut was a winter wonderland dream! If I could package these two ladies up and bring them with me wherever I went, I would! Kate and Britt are two people who just love to laugh and have fun… their energy is wonderfully contagious. Arturo and I had THE BEST time with Britt and Kate during their Gouveia Vineyards engagement session last summer, so we knew their wedding day would be full of even more joy and excitement!
Our afternoon began at a nearby hotel as Kate, Britt, and their friends got ready for the day’s events ahead. The brides’ styles complemented each other well, with Kate wearing a stunning Pronovias gown, and Britt in a long-sleeved gown adorned with intricate lace. I loved using each of the dresses to style their rings and accessories!
After getting ready, Britt made her way to the venue for the first look, followed by Kate. The ladies shared so much love and excitement during these sweet moments before we started their romantic portraits. Soon enough flurries started to fall from the sky, and the accumulation of snow started to happen pretty quickly! By the time Kate and Britt’s wedding party arrived a few minutes later, the ground already had a couple of inches covering it!
Kate and Britt chose the most wonderful group of people to stand by them on their big day. Arturo and I shared so many laughs not only with our brides but their entire wedding party as well! I always enjoy photographing our couples with their closest friends, but never in my career as a wedding photographer have I had such a joyful time with a group of people as I did with Britt and Kate’s wedding party!
The brides were surrounded by 150 of their friends and family members as they exchanged their heartfelt vows and rings. Their best friend, Ian, officiated their wedding, only adding to the sweetness and personalization of the day! After Kate and Britt shared their first kiss, all of the guests clapped and cheered for the newlyweds as they walked back up the aisle— just wait until you see the ladies’ reactions as they took their first steps!!
Britt and Kate were celebrated with wonderful toasts and endless dancing all night long! Our evening with these lovely ladies eventually came to an end, but not before Arturo and I snuck them outside to capture a few nighttime portraits as the snow fell softly around them!
THE LOVE STORY
Kate and Britt have been best friends since they were teenagers. Their friend group has been very close-knit since high school and still is today. A few years ago, the two went to a music festival with friends after their senior year of college. After the festival, both Britt and Kate had felt a mutual shift in their relationship, and started spending more weekends traveling back and forth between Connecticut and Massachusetts to spend time together. Later that year around Christmas, Kate and Britt went for a walk at a nearby park with the holiday lights strung all around. They soon decided to the leap to become something more together, which eventually brought their loved ones to their amazing January wedding day. These ladies are a perfect match!
