Wedding Floral Inspiration
I always say florals play such a big part in the decor and feel of your wedding day, so make sure you invest in them! From bouquets and boutonnieres to centerpieces, ceremony decor, cake florals, and more, flowers are everywhere on your wedding day. Because of that, they’re always one of the most photographed details which in turn help to tie your final album together in a cohesive way. I’ve photographed PLENTY of different floral designs in my career as a wedding photographer, and decided to compile them in one blog post for you! Enjoy a few of my favorites, categorized by season, below!
SPRING WEDDING FLORALS
Wedding Florist: Carrie Wilcox Floral Design
The lush florals at Melissa and Andy’s wedding were full of color! If you want to add a pop of color to your wedding day, definitely check out more of their beautifully designed spring wedding at The Inn at Longshore in Westport, Connecticut!
Wedding Florist: Fleurish
Julia and Matt planned a spectacular coastal spring wedding at the Guilford Yacht Club in Guilford, Connecticut. I like to describe their wedding style as “nautical-meets-tropical”. The brightly colored florals did not disappoint!
Wedding Florist: Cheshire Nursery
There were lush florals EVERYWHERE at Sally and Peter’s spring wedding at the New Haven Lawn Club in New Haven, Connecticut. Soft pink and white peonies were elegantly paired with eucalyptus strands in the bouquets, candelabra centerpieces, cake, and more!
Wedding Florist: Flowers by Danielle
You know I love a classic estate wedding, and Sarah and Shawn’s spring wedding at the DCA Meadowlands in Darien, Connecticut was just that! A simple color palette of whites, greens, and creams allowed the estate and its gardens to really shine!
SUMMER WEDDING FLORALS
Wedding Florist: Carrie Wilcox Floral Design
A classic June wedding at an estate along the Hudson River calls for a timeless color palette of dusty blue and white. See more of these beautiful florals from Lauren and Mike’s summer wedding at the Wainwright House in Rye, New York!
Wedding Florists: Fleurescent & Rustle Floral Co.
Sam and Thalia’s summer wedding at The Knowlton Boathouse in Bridgeport, Connecticut was a dream! Their wedding design was filled with vivid tropical florals everywhere you turned. I couldn’t get enough of that king protea!
Wedding Florist: Carrie Wilcox Floral Design
I love a black tie wedding, especially when there’s a pop of color to go with it! See more of Paige and Danny’s summer wedding at the Wainwright House in Rye, New York.
Wedding Florist: Flowers from the Farm
For a classic and timeless ballroom wedding, you can’t go wrong with a soft and neutral color palette of blues and creams. See more of Kate and Kevin’s summer wedding at the New Haven Lawn Club in New Haven, Connecticut!
Wedding Florist: Family friend
Bright pops of color mixed with softer pastels made this bouquet one of my summer favorites! See more of this beautiful floral design from Jessica and Nick’s summer wedding at Candlelight Farms Inn in New Milford, Connecticut.
FALL WEDDING FLORALS
Wedding Florist: Carrie Wilcox Floral Design
The autumn season in New England is my favorite time of year, especially at the peak of the fall foliage. The florals at Camille and Tarique’s fall wedding at Chamard Vineyards in Clinton, Connecticut certainly played off of the colors of the autumn trees!
Wedding Florist: Stylish Blooms
A neutral color palette will always give your wedding day (and photos!) a timeless feel, no matter what season you’re getting married in. My favorite flowers in these wedding floral arrangements were the lush dahlias that were paired with the mauve roses and blue thistle. See more of Amanda & Kyle’s florals from their fall wedding at Farmington Gardens in Farmington, Connecticut!
Wedding Florist: Rita’s Floral Touch
Maroon and blush always complement each other! Laura & Mike played off of this color palette for their fall wedding at The Inn at Longshore in Westport, Connecticut.
Wedding Florist: Family friend
Vivid pinks and soft whites were the stars of Sammy & Mike’s florals for their fall wedding at The Lace Factory in Deep River, Connecticut.
Wedding Florist: Flowers by Danielle
A classic ballroom wedding calls for a classic color palette! I love how Erica and Ron sprinkled in soft blues to their cream and white fall wedding at Aria in Prospect, Connecticut.
Wedding Florist: Fleurescent
When it comes to wedding flowers, a bridal bouquet is one of the most photographed floral designs of the day, so make it count! See more of this stunning bouquet at Kaitlyn & Nick’s fall wedding at La Bella Vista in Waterbury, Connecticut.
Wedding Florist: The Flowerfall of Westport
If you’ll be including your furry family members in your wedding day, don’t forget to get some flowers for them as well! Whether it be a lush floral collar, or something more simple with greens, it will make such an impact on your photos. See more of Ellen & Bobby’s fall wedding at Longshore Pavilion in Norwalk, Connecticut!
Wedding Florist: In Bloom Event Florals
Similar to the way maroon and blush complement each other, a combination of red, white, and blush does the same thing. I loved the unique blend of succulents and artichokes that were included in this bridal bouquet at Kimberly & Corbin’s fall wedding at Cask Republic in Stamford, Connecticut!
WINTER WEDDING FLORALS
Wedding Florist: Kellie Gallacher Floral Designs
The pops of maroon in these bouquets really made the colors stand out in Kate and Britt’s wedding photos. Check out more of their snowy winter wedding at Kinsmen Brewing Company in Milldale, Connecticut!
Wedding Florist: Family friend
Deep pinks, pale corals, and bright whites were a perfect combination for Nicole & Steve’s classic ballroom winter wedding at The Rockleigh in Rockleigh, New Jersey!
Wedding Florist: Fleurescent
Kim & Jake’s winter wedding at the Branford House in Groton, Connecticut was a classic coastal estate soirée. Neutral colored florals allowed the focus to stay on the beauty of the historical venue itself!
Wedding Florist: Guilford Greenery
This bridal bouquet featured mauve and roses paired with blue thistle and eucalyptus, all topped off with a few pops of purple. See more of Lauren & John’s winter wedding at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills in Middletown, Connecticut!
There are endless options when it comes to wedding floral design, and I hope a few of these helped you in finding styles and color palettes you enjoy!
