Harbor Point Wedding Proposal in Stamford, CT | Melissa & Chris
These two are ENGAGED!! Chris reached out to me last Monday about photographing a long-planned wedding proposal to his girlfriend (now fiancée!), Melissa. He met with Arturo and me the following day, telling us how much he loved her and knew that it was time to pop the big question! On Saturday night, all of his hard work paid off when he asked his best friend to marry him!! After she said yes, we took a stroll around Harbor Point where Melissa and Chris live to capture the beautiful love that they share. Despite the overcast skies, they were both glowing with excitement as they began this new season of their lives together!
Chris and Melissa met over six and a half years ago when they were both students at the University of Virginia. She's in the marketing industry while he works in finance. The two have shared their first apartment together here in Stamford for the past three years, so it only made sense that Chris wanted to propose at this location! Their parents were in town for the July 4th weekend (or so Melissa thought that was the reason they had come to visit!), and Chris told her they had dinner reservations at a local restaurant across the marina from where he was about to propose! Since Melissa had no idea Arturo and I were going to be photographing this momentous occasion, we had to keep our distance as to not raise any suspicions. As Chris and Melissa neared the location of the water taxi that would take them across the marina, he quickly got down on one knee and opened up a ring box that held a gorgeous diamond ring, to which Melissa was in complete shock!
These two are complete naturals in front of the camera!! During their mini engagement session that took place after the proposal, Melissa and Chris were so affectionate both on and off camera. When I get to photograph couples like them, it makes my heart sing! We absolutely love working with people who are truly, madly, deeply in love with each other!
