A CLASSIC BLACK TIE WEDDING AT THE INN AT LONGSHORE

Casey and Stephen’s summer wedding at The Inn at Longshore in Westport, Connecticut, was nothing short of joyful! From the dreamy details to the glow of the evening golden hour, every moment was a picture-perfect scene. Stephen and Casey’s wedding was a beautiful blend of excitement, romance, and celebration that we were honored to capture!

In the hours leading up to their first look, the air was electric with anticipation. The bride and groom radiated excitement as they prepared to see each other for the first time that day. When they finally met on the back lawn overlooking the serene waterfront, all the nerves melted away, replaced by joyful smiles and heartfelt embraces.

Under the warm summer sun, guests gathered to witness Casey and Stephen exchange their vows. As they gazed into each other’s eyes and promised forever, the love between them was palpable. Their first kiss as husband and wife was met with cheers and applause, a moment of pure joy that marked the beginning of their new chapter!

As the sun set, the evening transformed into an unforgettable celebration. From heartfelt toasts to high-energy music, every moment was filled with love and laughter. The dance floor stayed packed well into the night as friends and family celebrated the newlyweds’ new beginning together!

THE LOVE STORY

In 2016, Casey was on the basketball team at Fairfield University and Stephen was an assistant coach with Manhattan College. One evening well into the basketball season that year, they both attended an athletic awards banquet in New York City where they were seated at the same table. Stephen and Casey were both schmoozing with everyone around them, except each other.

When the event ended, Casey was outside with her basketball teammates waiting for their ride back to Connecticut. The ladies happened to be standing next to Stephen’s mom and grandmother, who had also attended the banquet as his father had been honored that evening. Stephen’s grandmother boldly leaned over to Casey and her teammates with a smirk on her face and said, “You know, my grandsons are tall and handsome. You’re all very tall and beautiful. I think you would make a great match.” While the ladies were all very flattered, it wasn’t the first time they’d heard that. Casey and Stephen both left the event without meeting each other.

Fast forward to late 2017, Casey was back home in Connecticut for the holiday season visiting friends and family before she had to return to Germany for the remainder of her professional basketball season. She decided to stop by Fairfield University where, by chance, Stephen was now working with the Men’s Basketball program. He had passed by Casey in the hallway that night while she was catching up with her old coaches and teammates. She immediately caught Stephen’s attention, but he was nervous to look over and say hello because he didn’t want to interrupt their conversation. Stephen figured their paths wouldn’t cross again when fate stepped in! A few minutes after he passed Casey in the hall, one of their mutual friends at Fairfield University, Taryn, introduced the two of them.

Casey invited Stephen to a party that evening, but unfortunately, he couldn’t make it as he was heading back home to New York. The following day, she flew back to Germany to continue her season and never responded to the DM he’d sent her. After Casey returned home in the spring of 2018, Taryn invited both her and Stephen to happy hour (unbeknownst to the two of them!). The pair hit it off immediately, chatting the entire evening for hours and hours.

Stephen eventually asked Casey out on an official first date, where they went to Madison Square Garden for a concert. Their second date included golfing at the driving range, followed by rosé and an unforgettable seafood tower on the patio of The Inn at Longshore. Their romance flourished and brought them to their beautiful June wedding day!

Congratulations Casey and Stephen! Cheers to many happy years ahead!
