Wedding Cake Inspiration
One of my favorite details to photograph at wedding receptions is always the cake! When it comes to designing wedding desserts, the sky is the limit! From different colors and textures to variations in florals and greenery, no two wedding cakes ever truly look the same. Whether you’re planning a grand celebration or something more intimate, the options for wedding cakes are limitless. If you’re having trouble deciding on the style of your wedding cake, scroll through some of my favorites below from the 2021 wedding season!

I love a colorful bunch of florals, especially if they’re being used to decorate a cake! See more of Brenna and Jake’s colorful spring wedding at the Glastonbury Boathouse in Glastonbury, Connecticut!

Simply greenery on a classic white wedding cake goes a long way. See more of Lauren and Nick’s classic fall wedding at The Ryland Inn in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey!

Cake Designer: Russell Morin Catering
The soft texture of the wedding cake paired with cascading florals made this one dreamy wedding dessert. See more of Ashley and Jim’s colorful vineyard summer wedding at Jonathan Edwards Winery in North Stonington, Connecticut!
Cake Designer: Lovely Cakes
If you’re having a more intimate wedding, you may not need a multi-tiered wedding cake, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with a dessert for your guests. The ruffles finished off with a shimmery gold, plus the small floral cake topper made this one of my favorites of 2021!
Cake Designer: Fleetwood Pastry Shop
Even classic white wedding cakes deserve some fun design and textures. See more of Carley and Shawn’s classic summer wedding at The Briarcliff Manor in Briarcliff Manor, New York!

While most people opt for florals to decorate their wedding cake, fresh fruit is a fun alternative. See more of Christine and Sal’s intimate coastal summer wedding at York Harbor Inn in York, Maine!
Cake Designer: Sweet Bakes Cafe
Don’t be afraid to include some gold leaf or your wedding colors into a tier or two of your wedding cake. Add a cluster of flowers and voilà! You have a beautiful wedding pastry that is sure to wow your guests.
Cake Designer: Whitby Castle
If you want 100% of your wedding cake (decor and all!) to be edible, consider sugar flowers instead of real ones. See more of Michelle and John’s classic summer wedding at Whitby Castle in Rye, New York!
Cake Designer: Greentree Country Club
Cascading pink roses from top to bottom? What’s not to love? See more of Wydnne and Joe’s coastal fall wedding at Greentree Country Club in New Rochelle, New York!
