A COLORFUL COASTAL WEDDING AT THE INN AT LONGSHORE
Molly and Ben’s wedding at The Inn at Longshore in Westport, Connecticut was an enchanting coastal celebration! From the captivating color palette to the carefully curated details, their wedding day blended modern elegance with whimsical charm. Lush and colorful florals, two incredible families, and a sweet couple with impeccable style were just a few of my favorite things about this day!
As Molly got ready with her bridesmaids that morning at The Inn at Longshore, the feeling of excitement and anticipation filled the room. The heavy rain that afternoon spoiled our plans for outdoor portraits, but luckily The Inn at Longshore has a few lovely indoor spaces for photo ops. After her mom, sister, and grandma helped Molly into her wedding gown, she and Ben met in Longshore’s front room for their first look. Smiles beamed across each of their faces when they saw each other! We soon moved into photographing portraits of the bride and groom, along with their sweet pup, Mooney, who may or may not have stolen the show from her parents!
Much to our surprise, the rain stopped for a few minutes, so Ben and Molly decided to move their ceremony outside. The coastal splendor of The Inn at Longshore provided a breathtaking backdrop for their wedding ceremony. As the couple read their vows against the coastal backdrop, the love and joy they shared were felt by everyone, despite the fact that the rain had started up again. After exchanging their rings, Molly and Ben shared their first kiss as their loved ones cheered around them!
As the newlyweds joined cocktail hour, Arturo and I finally got to see the vision of Ben and Molly’s wedding design that was brought to life! The modern touches were complimented by a bright and vivid color palette. Gold accents mixed with pastels and pops of color were infused into the ballroom of The Inn at Longshore. The carefully chosen decor elements beautifully showcased Molly and Ben’s personality and flair.
The gentle sound of laughter and the clinking of champagne glasses filled the air, as family and friends came together to celebrate the newlyweds. That evening, the dance floor transformed into a lively stage, where guests reveled in the festivities, creating an atmosphere of pure bliss and celebration!
THE LOVE STORY
Ben and Molly met in passing during their junior year of college at Elon University where they were each majoring in education. That September, the apartment building that Molly lived in had a mold problem, which meant that all of its tenants had to move out for several weeks until it was remedied.
She was able to stay with her friend Lauren during that time, but there was almost no room for all of her belongings that she had to bring with her. As luck would have it, her friend Nathan lived down the hall and had plenty of closet space for Molly to use. And who was Nathan’s roommate? Ben!
When Molly finally got the okay to move back into her apartment, Nathan was away for the weekend, but Ben offered to load up all of Molly’s belongings into his car and carry them up to her apartment. At that time, Molly and Ben barely knew each other, so she thought he was a complete angel for his offer!
A few weeks later, they walked over to an Elon event together where they were both working. During their walk that morning from their apartments, Ben asked Molly if she had an interest in going to the football game with him that would be going on later that day. She said yes, and sparks started to fly! As Molly says, they “instantly fell into a rhythm that day”. At the game, she and Ben took a selfie together and tweeted it with #ElonEd, where they ended up on the jumbotron as “Smile of the Game”.
Ben walked Molly back to her apartment, and later that evening they continued to spend time together. They watched a movie but instead ended up chatting throughout the entire thing. As time passed, the pair would text nonstop and made it a point to meet up for the five minutes they had between classes. Five years later, they’re finally married!
Congratulations Molly & Ben! Cheers to many happy years ahead!
