A COMPO BEACH ENGAGEMENT SESSION
Arturo and I kicked off our spring season (on the very first day of spring, no less!) photographing Brittny and Walter’s engagement session at Compo Beach in Westport, Connecticut. They even brought along their adorable pup, Bonnie, who joined them in a couple of their engagement photos. There was a cool breeze near the coast, but luckily the sun was shining and the light glittered on the water.
Though Brittny and Walter told us they were a little nervous to be in front of the camera as we photographed their engagement session at Compo Beach, you’d never know it! They have beautiful chemistry and a connection that truly translated into their photographs. After spending a bit of time with these two, we know their wedding day is going to be an absolute blast!
THE PROPOSAL STORY
Last November, Walter had planned a day trip for him and Brittny to Newport, Rhode Island. We had unusually warm weather here in New England around that time, so Walter knew it would be the perfect time to propose! The two had been to Newport before, so they planned to grab a bite along the water and visit another park along the coast that Brittny loves.
After they ate lunch, Walter and Brittny took a walk together and made their way to the beach to watch the sunset. They strolled along the water together for a bit, but little did Brittny know that Walter was actually looking for the perfect spot to pop the question! He stopped, picked something up off the ground, and asked, “Britt, do you want this rock?”, as he pretended to propose to her with it. The two laughed together and Brittny tossed the rock back onto the ground. She turned and began to walk away when she heard Walter say, “Wait, how about this one?” When Brittny turned around, she saw Walter down on one knee holding a beautiful engagement ring in his hand!
These two are getting married next spring at The Waterview in Monroe, Connecticut, and we are so excited to celebrate them! Congratulations Brittny and Walter!
When did you know you'd found "the one"?
Brittny: “Technically from the day we met on the kickball field! Once I saw the way he was with my family and how attentive he was to me every single day (always texting good morning around 7am) it was hard to deny the smile on my face. I just knew.”
Walter: “I don't know if there's an exact moment, it seemed more like a combination of moments. She had a ton of enthusiasm for things we did together, I could tell how much she cared about me, and I realized I had never felt this way before about someone. As the years went on, and I continued to realize who she was at the heart of things, I just knew there was no one else I'd rather be with.”
What's one thing you love about your partner?
Brittny: “The thing I love about Walter the most is his heart. He cares so much and would do anything for the people he loves.”
Walter: “Her enthusiasm and when she has her bursts of pure happiness. We always have a good time.”
Besides getting married, what is one thing you're looking forward to on your wedding day?
Brittny: “Celebrating Walter and me with everyone who matters most to us.”
Walter: “Partying and having fun with Britt.”
What's one thing you're looking forward to about marriage?
Brittny: “A forever partner in crime.”
Walter: “Creating a family unit.”
