A FARMINGTON GARDENS WEDDING

Arturo and I have adored Amanda and Kyle since the moment we first met them, so it was such a joy to see them become husband and wife! We first photographed them at their engagement session in downtown Westport, Connecticut last December. Fast forward to this month, and we had the honor to document their Farmington Gardens wedding in northern Connecticut!

Amanda is a total fashionista, so I’d been looking forward to seeing her bridal style for MONTHS! She looked absolutely stunning in her Madison James bridal gown, which gave her a glam bridal vibe with a wonderful touch of elegance. I had also heard about her bridesmaids’ velvet gowns, and let me tell you, they were to die for! Amanda and her girls ROCKED their look that day!

Kyle and Amanda’s wedding day reminded Arturo and me much of our own; it was a rainy October day with blustery winds. Despite the rain, these guys were troopers and decided to share a first look together outside of the bed and breakfast where they’d spent the morning getting ready. After they shared their first look, the bride and groom shared their heartfelt vows privately with each other. At this point, the rain had picked up but these guys were more than ready to continue their romantic portraits outside! I was pretty excited because it gave Arturo and me the chance to break out our favorite clear bubble umbrellas for photos!

Due to the rain, Amanda and Kyle’s wedding ceremony had to be held inside. The indoor ceremony location at Farmington Gardens is their greenhouse, which is adorned with white paper lanterns strung along the ceiling. After being pronounced husband and wife, Kyle and Amanda shared a romantic kiss and took their first steps up the aisle as newlyweds!

Their evening ended with sweet speeches, a meal with their guests, and plenty of dancing. Amanda and Kyle are so, so loved by all of their friends and family. The joy and excitement that day were overflowing from each of their guests!

THE LOVE STORY

Kyle and Amanda shared similar friend groups when they were in high school. After graduation, they had lost touch but reconnected when they were still in college. In 2011, they made things official and started dating! Kyle would drive to spend every weekend with Amanda at her school, bringing his guitar and learning any song she'd request.

Last fall, the two went on vacation to their favorite place on Earth, Disney World! Amanda and Kyle decided to have dinner one evening at Belle & Beast’s Castle in Magic Kingdom. After dinner, Kyle surprised Amanda as they were taking a photo, got down on one knee, and asked her to be his wife!

After their first look, Kyle and Amanda exchanged their vows. Though Arturo and I couldn’t hear what they were saying to each other, we know it was sweet by the way they each reacted!

I love that these guys weren’t afraid of a little rain on their wedding day!
