A MICRO WEDDING AT THE MONROE TOWN GREEN
What a sweet day it was to celebrate Nicole and Mike’s marriage at the Monroe, Connecticut Town Green! It was a gray and overcast morning with clouds that were threatening a downpour. Luckily the rain held off just long enough for portraits and through the end of the wedding ceremony!
I absolutely love this family! I first met Nicole back in 2016 when she was her sister’s maid of honor at Monica and Kevin’s December wedding at Aria. A few years later, after Mike proposed, Nicole reached out and I photographed their coastal engagement session at Perry’s Green near Southport Harbor. At that point, the two didn’t have any wedding plans set in place but liked the idea of a backyard soirée.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago, I received another email from Nicole saying that she and Mike were planning a small and intimate wedding with family and asked if we were available to photograph their day! I was so excited to read her message, especially since I had such a wonderful time with them at their engagement session! We scheduled a FaceTime call where Nicole shared all of the details she and Mike were planning for their day.
Our morning started off at the Monroe Town Green where Mike and Nicole shared a sweet first look! There were beautiful heirloom details included in Nicole’s bridal style, one of my favorites being her hair accessory! The headpiece she wore in her hair was made from her mom’s wedding veil, and was also the same bridal piece that Monica wore on her wedding day! Monica and their mom also had similar headpieces in their hair that were made from the same veil as well.
After finishing romantic portraits of the bride and groom, the soon-to-be newlyweds and their fifteen family members in attendance headed into the gazebo for the ceremony. It was short and sweet, and all the while Nicole and Mike each had beaming smiles across their faces. After sharing their first kiss, the newlyweds turned to their guests and raised their arms in excitement as everyone clapped and cheered around them!
Congratulations Nicole and Mike! Thank you so much for including us in your beautiful day. Cheers to many beautiful years ahead!
