Spring Wedding at Whitby Castle in Rye, NY | Keeva & Austin
A WHITBY CASTLE WEDDING
Though Keeva and Austin’s wedding at Whitby Castle in Rye, New York took place on a rainy day, it was a beautiful one at that! Arturo and I are no strangers to inclement weather on wedding days, and it seems that weddings we’ve photographed at Whitby have come with more weather challenges than not (do you remember Hurricane Henri last summer? We were there for that!). Luckily, Whitby Castle is a dream to work at rain or shine.
Though Austin and Keeva had originally planned for an outdoor ceremony on the front lawn with the castle as their backdrop, their plans changed to an indoor ceremony in the ballroom. Large windows cover a good part of the perimeter of Whitby Castle’s ballroom, which allows an incredible amount of natural light to flood in from all directions (a photographer’s dream!). After Keeva’s father gave her away, she and Austin exchanged their rings and vows, and finally shared their first kiss as husband and wife. Their guests clapped and cheered around them as the new Mr. and Mrs. walked back up the aisle with glowing smiles beaming across their faces!
The newlyweds are certainly two people who are endlessly loved by their friends and family. They were celebrated well into the evening with beautiful speeches and plenty of dancing. Keeva and Austin’s day was wonderfully memorable, and one Arturo and I will look back on fondly for years to come!
THE LOVE STORY
Austin and Keeva met in the first semester of their sophomore year of college when they attended Sacred Heart University. They caught each other’s eye during the math class they had together, and Keeva emailed Austin asking if he’d like to work on one of their homework assignments together. He gladly accepted, and the months that followed were full of the pair texting each other and casually hanging out.
In the second semester of their sophomore year, Keeva and Austin found themselves in another class together, so they immediately took the opportunity to sit next to one another. They would unintentionally run into each other outside of class at local bars and parties, but soon made more of an effort to make plans so they could spend more time together. In October of 2014, Austin officially asked Keeva to be his girlfriend, which eventually lead us all to their beautiful wedding day!
These two are currently enjoying the sunny beaches of Mexico on their honeymoon, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little jealous. Congratulations Keeva and Austin! Wishing you many happy years ahead!
