Yale University Engagement Session in New Haven, CT | Rachel & Marc
Sunrise engagement sessions at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut have to be some of my absolute favorites! The light is always so beautiful, and the campus isn’t nearly as busy as it is later in the day. We really lucked out with the weather on the morning of Rachel and Marc’s session last week, seeing as how there was snow in the forecast for later that day! There were still some leaves on the trees around the Yale campus which allowed us to pull out the last of the New England autumn vibes into Marc and Rachel’s photos. Arturo and I had such a fun time getting to know these two and hear all about their proposal story! Rachel’s engagement ring contains a stone that has been a family heirloom for several generations (if you’ve been reading my blog for a while, I love sentimental and personal details like these!), with a beautifully chosen ring band chosen by Marc.
The two met when they were both graduate students at Yale, and finished their program last December. Marc and Rachel started working as PAs a few months later and took their first vacation France last month. On their trip, Rachel and Marc visited a small village called Eze. It was here that Marc popped the question on a beautiful mountainside with a stone that has now been in Rachel's family for 4 generations!
Congratulations Rachel and Marc! Wishing you lots of love and adventure ahead!
When did you know you'd found "the one"?
Rachel: “I actually called my mom after our first date and calmly explained to her that I was fairly sure I was going to marry this one!”
Marc: “I never actually had an ‘ah ha!’ moment. After we had been dating for a couple months, I was so comfortable that I knew it was going to go in this direction. Things just felt very natural and like I had always known her. It wasn't one moment, it just felt like I knew.”
What's one thing you love about your partner?
Rachel: “Marc is a kind soul. He is selfless, sweet, and too smart for his own good!”
Marc: “She's fun to be around! She's funny, witty, intelligent, and I've never been bored.”
Besides getting married, what is one thing you're looking forward to on your wedding day?
Rachel: “He's from Massachusetts and I'm from Florida so our families haven't had a chance to really get to know each other - looking forward to having all of our loved ones together!”
Marc: “Having everyone we care about in the same place.”
What's one thing you're looking forward to about marriage?
Rachel: “Is it unromantic to mention the tax breaks? Joking aside, looking forward to the joyful life ahead with my best bud!”
Marc: “I'm looking forward to a new chapter - possibly moving, starting a family, traveling, and all the adventures to come!”
