A DEVIL’S HOPYARD STATE PARK ENGAGEMENT SESSION

Spring is a season of renewal and new beginnings, which is why I love this time for engagement sessions! David and Kelly’s engagement session brought us to Devil's Hopyard State Park in East Haddam, Connecticut, somewhere Arturo and I hadn’t had the pleasure of photographing our couples before. Kelly happens to be a part of the team at Creative Concepts by Lisa, and it’s always an honor when a fellow wedding pro chooses us to be a part of their day!

Their engagement session began near a covered bridge as the evening sunlight popped in and out from the clouds. Kelly wore a sage green dress and completed her look with hair and makeup by the talented Nikki of Beauty by Mineko. David wore a casual black suit, looking dapper as ever. As they stood cuddled up together, a glow would come across Kelly’s face each time she looked at David, showing just how in love these two truly are!

After a quick outfit change, we made our way to the park's main attraction: Chapman Falls. The waterfall cascaded down a rocky cliff, creating an alternate backdrop to the bridge we had started at. The sound of rushing water created a peaceful atmosphere, and we were able to capture the evening’s last few photos of this sweet couple!

THE PROPOSAL STORY

One day in early December 2022, David proposed in Central Park. Unsurprisingly, Kelly knew what was happening, but that didn't stop the tears from flowing! Afterward, the two celebrated with phone calls to their parents followed by a dinner date to enjoy some Korean BBQ. David and Kelly ended their incredible evening on a high note by attending the Ingrid Michaelson Holiday Hop!

These two are getting married this August at The Mansion at Bald Hill, and we cannot wait to see their day come to life! Congratulations Kelly and David!
