A WEDDING AT THE BARNS AT WESLEYAN HILLS

Jenn and Joe’s spring wedding at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills in Middletown, Connecticut kicked off our first double-header weekend of the 2023 season for us. The venue's rustic charm and natural beauty provided a lovely backdrop for the couple's big day. After spending time with them last spring during their engagement session at Waveny Park, I knew their day was going to be a beautiful one!

Joe and Jenn’s wedding color palette was a timeless combination of eucalyptus green, lavender, violet, grey, and white. Jenn’s bouquet featured a mix of greenery and delicate white and violet blooms, while her bridesmaids carried similar arrangements that were equally stunning! Joe’s groomsmen looked dashing in their grey suits, perfectly complementing the color scheme.

After getting ready for the day’s festivities, Jenn and Joe met near the large willow tree on the property for their first look, where they would also later be married in a joyful ceremony. As they were pronounced husband and wife, smiles appeared on both of their faces before leaning in for their first kiss! The overcast skies that day didn't steal the smiles off Joe and Jenn's faces one bit. In fact, their wedding celebration was filled with nothing but joy and excitement! These two are certainly loved by their friends and family alike.

The reception was held inside the large barn, where the rustic feel of the venue was complemented by the elegant decor. The guest tables were adorned with stunning centerpieces featuring greens, white blooms, and pops of lavender and violet. Jenn and Joe's attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the reception while also reflecting who they are as a couple. The newlyweds were celebrated all night long by their family and friends, with heartfelt toasts and endless dancing. There was nothing but love and happiness that surrounded the new Mr. & Mrs. on their wedding day!

THE LOVE STORY

Joe and Jenn met shortly after she moved to New York from Boston. He had been living in Astoria and traveled weekly for work. She was a recent college grad and excited to start her career in a brand new city. Neither one of them was looking to get into a relationship at that point in their lives… but they do say love comes when you least expect it!

Shortly after her move, Jenn was invited to a party in Astoria by one of her friends. She was a little reluctant to go since she would only know one person there, but decided to step out of her comfort zone and attend anyway. Jenn had no idea that she’d be meeting her future husband that night!

That evening, Joe and Jenn were introduced, and though they admitted to each other later on that they each had feelings for the other that first night, they spent several months as acquaintances. Months later, they finally shared their first date at a Mexican restaurant on the Upper East Side. From then on, they spent every weekend together, and now they’re finally married!

Congratulations Jenn and Joe! Cheers to many happy years ahead!
