The Shore & Country Club Wedding in Norwalk, CT | Lindsay & Kyle
A SUMMER WEDDING AT SHORE & COUNTRY CLUB
Lindsay and Kyle’s coastal summer wedding at The Shore and Country Club in Norwalk, Connecticut was one for the books! The day was filled with nothing but pure joy, which meant that excitement and happiness trickled down to everyone who surrounded the bride and groom that afternoon. When I mentioned to Lindsay how relaxed she and Kyle were all day, she replied, “We get one day. We’re not going to stress about anything now, but rather enjoy every second of it!” To those of you reading this who are also in the midst of planning your wedding, take this valuable piece of advice and remember it on your big day!
I first met Lindsay and Kyle last fall when I photographed their engagement session at Cranbury Park. They share a wonderful chemistry, which seamlessly translates into each of their portraits. Their wedding day was no different, which meant Arturo and I had a little extra creative freedom while photographing these sweethearts!
Our morning with Kyle and Lindsay began as they got ready for the day ahead. We later made our way over to the church where the two had opted to do a first look and some portraits before their ceremony. The smiles that beamed across Lindsay and Kyle’s faces when they saw each other were just the sweetest!
The ceremony began, and once Lindsay and her dad appeared at the back of the church, sniffles of happiness and joy could be heard among the guests who filled the pews. Kyle and Lindsay locked eyes, and I swear their smiles grew just a little bigger in that moment! After a beautiful service was given by the priest, the bride and groom exchanged their rings and shared their first kiss. Friends and family erupted with excitement as they cheered on the newlyweds!
After a fun bubble ceremony exit and some additional portraits, we headed back to Lindsay’s parents’ home to catch a boat that would be taking the bride, groom, and their wedding party to The Shore and Country Club for the reception. I’ve seen some amazing ways that our clients have entered their wedding reception, but this was our first time having a couple make a grand entrance via boat! As Kyle and Lindsay walked up the dock ramp and across the bridge to the lawn at Shore and Country Club, they were greeted with more cheering from their guests who were eagerly awaiting their arrival.
Kyle and Lindsay planned more of a cocktail-style reception, as to allow their guests to chat and mingle with each other all evening. There was a unique flow to the evening, and it was one that Arturo and I absolutely loved. Four heartfelt toasts were given that wonderfully honored the newlyweds, followed by endless dancing which I’m sure went late into the night!
We ended our time with Lindsay and Kyle that evening for some final newlywed portraits by the water. Cotton candy-colored skies served as the perfect backdrop while sailboats floated by us in the distance. This truly was a celebratory day and one that we’ll always hold close to our hearts!
THE LOVE STORY
Lindsay and Kyle met just before she began her freshman year at the University of Connecticut as she was moving into her dorm. A few doors down the hall, Kyle and his roommate were already settled in and had left their door open, greeting all of the new students while offering their help to those who needed it. Lindsay took notice not only of Kyle’s kindness, but also the set of golf clubs under his bed, and of course his blue eyes that she’s still so fond of! Kyle also noticed things about Lindsay; he was impressed by how outgoing she was and her ability to make anyone around her laugh, and even listen to him chat about golf.
The first time they actually spent time together, Lindsay and Kyle went golfing at Skungamaug River Golf Course, followed by a meal at one of the UConn dining halls. They remained friends throughout the school year and even continued to meet up with each other and friends that summer. The two would text each other almost non-stop, and after some persuasion from each of their friends, Kyle and Lindsay finally had their first date! After a few more dates, they made things official later that summer.
In the nine years Lindsay and Kyle have been together, they celebrated graduations, birthdays, and several other life milestones together. After eight years together, Kyle planned the perfect proposal and asked Lindsay to be his wife!
Congratulations Lindsay and Kyle! Wishing you much love and adventure in the years to come!
Lindsay was beautiful, joyful bride. I don’t think the smile left her face all day!
Kyle looked dapper as ever. How fun is that floral pocket square?!
We couldn’t get over the beauty of this bouquet! Those long, velvet ribbons were the perfect finishing touch and flowed elegantly in the wind each time a breeze swept by us!
After 10 years together, they’re finally MARRIED!
Arturo and I had the best time with Lindsay and Kyle’s wedding party! They certainly had a fantastic group of people surrounding them on their big day!
Their newlywed bliss was unmatched!
After popping a celebratory bottle of champagne, Lindsay, Kyle, and their wedding party marched their way over to the boat that would carry them to the venue. The group was even led by a bagpiper, who continued playing for them on the boat!
These newlyweds knew how to make an entrance!
