Summer Engagement Session at Tod's Point in Greenwich, CT | Michelle & Danny

A SUMMER ENGAGEMENT SESSION AT TOD’S POINT

It was a muggy summer evening when I photographed Michelle and Danny’s engagement session at Tod’s Point in Greenwich, Connecticut, but my goodness, bearing through the less-than-ideal weather was worth it! Tod’s Point is only minutes away from where Michelle grew up in Old Greenwich, so it was the perfect spot to take some engagement photos of her and Danny.

The sun kept peeking in and out from behind the clouds which gave us the softest, most romantic light as I photographed these two at Tod’s Point Beach. I loved having the opportunity to spend time with Danny and Michelle while also hearing all about their wedding plans for next summer!

THE PROPOSAL STORY

One Friday afternoon, Danny told Michelle that he had planned a weekend getaway for the two of them. She immediately knew what was going to happen on that trip! Michelle quickly packed a bag and they went glamping about an hour outside Austin, Texas. That evening, Danny and Michelle went to a nice dinner where she 100% expected Danny to pop the question, but to her surprise, he didn’t. The next day they went on a walk within the glamping retreat alongside the Pedernales River. It was then that Danny proposed! It was a private moment that just the two of them got to enjoy together.

Michelle of course said yes, and now these two are planning a beautiful June wedding at Michelle’s parents’ home in Old Greenwich next year. Congratulations Michelle & Danny!

When did you know you'd found "the one"?

Michelle: “Danny and I worked together and became best friends months before we started dating. Once we did get together I knew pretty quickly since he was already my best friend and now more.”

Danny: “Michelle and I went through a few different phases rather quickly (moved in together, moved into her parents’ place during the early part of the pandemic, moved to Austin, changed jobs, etc). Through it all, Michelle and I never changed. When we finally settled in Austin, I understood that our relationship had developed in such a way that we were open and honest with each other first and foremost, and acting in a way to impress each other second. When I had that realization I knew that Michelle was the one.”

What's one thing you love about your partner?

Michelle: “I love how calm and patient Danny is. I am a bit wild, loud, and emotional, and I think while I bring out the fun in him he gives me stability, grounding, and a sense of calm.”

Danny: “Michelle is literally the funniest person I have ever been around. I feel like no matter what we're doing, I find myself laughing. Whether it's driving 26 hours from Austin to New York, just sitting on the couch, eating out, or even working, there isn't a moment where I think that Michelle's presence didn't make this experience that much more enjoyable.”

Besides getting married, what is one thing you're looking forward to on your wedding day?

Michelle: “Seeing all of our friends and family together!! Our families are the most important thing to us so I'm excited for them to come together and celebrate.”

Danny: “Dancing and celebrating with our new blended family while being able to bring everyone we care about to one place.”

What's one thing you're looking forward to about marriage?

Michelle: “I’m looking forward to continuing our partnership and hopefully starting a family together.”

Danny: “I’m excited about seeing our combined dreams grow. Whether that’s our family, our careers, etc. I get excited about seeing us in 1, 5, 10 years’ time while imagining how much we will grow together.”
