A WEDDING AT THE BARN AT VILLA VENEZIA

James and Jenny’s spring wedding celebration took place at The Barn at Villa Venezia in Middletown, New York on a humid May evening. Despite the muggy, rainy weather, these two were all smiles throughout the day! Jenny and James are some of the sweetest, most beautiful people we’ve had the pleasure of working with. For Arturo and me, it felt like we were celebrating old friends that we’d known for years!

James and Jenny planned an elegant and timeless wedding at The Barn at Villa Venezia. My favorite touch was their soft and neutral color palette of blushes, creams, and greens with a pop of pink from coral peonies in Jenny’s bouquet! To top it all off, they each had fantastic personal styles; James’ traditional black tux was a perfect complement to Jenny’s Lea-Ann Belter bridal gown.

The Barn at Villa Venezia is a new wedding venue in the Hudson Valley and offers a space to those looking for a more modern take on a rustic wedding. I enjoyed the fact that it’s not a traditional barn venue; it has more of a rustic vineyard or winery vibe instead! Jenny and James certainly played into this in their wedding design, keeping things modern and tasteful.

The two opted to do a first look in front of the grand doors of The Barn at Villa Venezia, where smiles beaming from ear to ear on each of their faces. It was hands down one of my favorite parts of James and Jenny’s day! They were later married in a short-but-sweet wedding ceremony officiated by Jenny’s uncle. After the bride and groom exchanged their rings and vows, they were pronounced husband and wife, and finally shared their first kiss!

The new Mr. & Mrs. were wonderfully honored all evening long by their family and friends. Heartfelt speeches and endless dancing lasted well into the night to celebrate the newlyweds. There was no shortage of love that guests had for Jenny and James on their wedding day!

THE LOVE STORY

James and Jenny met one year at a summer day camp where they both worked as counselors. They were introduced during the orientation by the director of the camp. Jenny immediately noticed what a gentleman James was, and fell for him pretty quickly. The two became friends, and once the summer came to an end, they kept in touch over the next year. Soon enough, Jenny and James started spending more time together and their friendship turned into a romance. After 7 years of dating, James proposed to Jenny, and they were married a year and a half later!

Congratulations Jenny and James! Cheers to endless love and laughter in the years ahead!

Due to the rain, we had a few quick minutes for some indoor newlywed portraits. James and Jenny’s reception space was the perfect room for their photos!
