The Knot Best of Weddings 2021 Award
2020 has been one heck of a year, am I right? In the months of 2019 leading into 2020, I felt more proud of our business than I ever had before! We were on track to have our most successful year yet, with a wedding season that was spread out evenly among 12 months (trust me when I say that never happens!). I was even planning a long-awaited trip to visit my sister and her boyfriend out west where they live in Washington!
As we all know, everything changed in March when the world shut down. Arturo and I took the first couple of months day by day. We read the news, listened to state safety guidelines for gatherings, and remained positive, even though the two of us had no idea what the future held for Shaina Lee Photography. During that same time, many phone calls and emails also came in from our couples looking to postpone their wedding days. While it hurt to have so much business delayed, we are endlessly grateful to our couples who checked our availability before securing a new wedding date. Arturo and I are thankful to say that while a little more than half of our 2020 couples postponed (understandably so!), we didn’t have anyone cancel. In our book, that’s a total win!
Luckily, we were still able to end our 2020 season having photographed 25 elopements, micro weddings, and intimate celebrations. To top it off, last month Arturo and I received the email that we had won The Knot Best of Weddings 2021 Award. After what has been our most challenging year, we are incredibly appreciative to receive this award for the third consecutive year!
To all of our 2020 couples, thank you for your grace and support as we worked together to make your day happen! To our 2021 couples, we are equally as excited to (still) be the ones to capture your love on your new wedding dates!
